TERM 4 NEWS!

Monday 15 October 2017

Dear parents and caregivers

Welcome back for Term 4.  We trust you all had a relaxing break and the children are ready for what will be a busy term!

Firstly, a big thank you for all of your support with AG day.  It was a great day and the children are to be congratulated for their efforts!

A big welcome to Tai who joins us from Drury School. We know you will love being in Room 14.

We have a few reminders and key dates to share with you, so please pop these in the diary!

Reminders and key dates:

Athletics day is fast approaching at the end of Week 2,  and permission is due by this Wednesday.  You can find additional information on the school web page, in regards to payment and what your child will need to bring.  Please ensure your child has their school hat, sunscreen and a drink bottle!  We are practising on Tuesdays for the next two weeks, so please have your PE uniform at school.

Artstravaganza begins on Tuesday afternoon and is going to be an exciting way to kick off our term!  We will be dedicating our class teaching sessions on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to creating a piece of art in preparation for our exhibition in Week 2, and we are lucky to have performing artists perform to us on these afternoons as well.  The children need to bring in $2 each please to cover additional costs for this.

The Christmas lights are returning this year and are scheduled for Week 7.  We would welcome any ideas and support with this closer to the time!

With the warmer weather approaching, it is now compulsory for all children to be wearing their school hats or school caps at break times and for outdoor sessions.  The hat needs to be a school hat or cap and please ensure this is named.

We will continue to have our library session on a Tuesday, so please ensure books are returned each week.

Homework- Our class speaking programme will be kicking off in Week 2. This will be glued into your child’s home learning book.  This is part of our homework programme, so we would appreciate it if you could support your child in being organised and prepared on their day.  The home learning book needs to come to school each day in book bags and your child will have daily spelling and reading to complete.  Please continue to fill in the daily reading log. The children know where to find extra sheets if they have filled in their current one.
Remember to regularly check our class blog and feel free to leave a comment- the children love checking these!  There are numerous links to relevant maths, reading and writing sites on our slides that are on the class blog.

End of Year prizegiving is to be held on Thursday, 14 December, with our last day on the 15th.

Thanks for your continued support as the year progresses.  It is unbelievable to think we are heading into Term 4!
Kind regards,
Jodie and Rachel
