How We Organise Ourselves!

This term our Inquiry focuses on having a role and responsibility within a group.  Yesterday afternoon, the Totara team went outside for some team building games, where we had to be reciprocal and resilient!

We took part in the three legged race, tunnel ball, a firemen relay and a challenge where we had to cross the hot chocolate river!

Term Two!

Welcome back for Term Two.  We hope you all had a relaxing break and managed to get some sunshine before the winter terms are upon us.

This week we welcome Dinaya to our classroom.  Dinaya has come from Taranaki and we are very excited about having her join Room 14!

The Life Education truck is visiting us over the next two weeks, with Room 14 having two sessions with Harold the Giraffe this week.  Our focus with Harold is learning about being a good friend and how to relate positively to others.

Just a few other notices to start the term:

The children were all given spelling words to practise yesterday.  These are recorded in their Home Learning books and they will be tested next Monday.  It is most beneficial to practise these words by writing them down.

Thanks and well done to the children who have been busy doing nightly reading at home.  Please remember to record this on the Reading Log glued into the back of the Home Learning Book, and then the children can move their Busy Bee accordingly.

Our Library day will remain being on a Tuesday!

We are having Buzz Group news for Oral Language over the next three weeks, with the children each having an important role to undertake in their group.  The children do not have their set day at the moment.  In Week 4 we will be going back to our Oral Language programme, and a notice will be glued into the Home Learning Book in regards to this.  They will be required to come to school prepared for their day, with set topics to talk about. More information to follow. 😀

We look forward to catching up with some of you next week at 3 way conferences!

Have a great term,
Kind regards

Rachel and Jodie
